Settle Your Differences

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 26th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“These are the things you shall do: Speak each man the truth to his neighbour;…”
Zachariah 8:16

Then we go right to the New Testament to the Book of Ephesians:

“…do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”
Ephesians 4:26-27

Don’t let the sun go down on that argument, settle it before you go to sleep. We need to settle our differences. Don’t keep grudges because they just fester and grow into something ugly. Don’t hold on to unforgiveness. It is not even healthy for us, never mind the other person. Just learn to say sorry. I can hear someone saying, “But it is not even my fault.” It doesn’t matter, the person has been offended, just say sorry. It is the quickest way to diffuse an argument and we are living in the last days, folks. We don’t have time to hang on to arguments and our own personal outlook and opinion. Let us be peace-makers.

You know, a very sad story took place many years ago. A couple really loved each other but the man had a drinking problem and he really tested his poor wife. One night she was lying in her bed, probably not sleeping because she was worried about her husband because he had not come home, and in the early hours of the morning, eventually the vehicle arrived, he staggered into the bedroom and literally just fell on the bed and passed out from drinking too much alcohol. She was so angry and so disappointed in him. She turned over and said, “I wish you would die!” And with that, she eventually went to sleep. The next morning she woke up and remembered what she had said, she wanted to say sorry, and she shook her husband but he never woke up. He actually died in his sleep. She was devastated. It took a long time for her to accept the fact that the Lord forgives if we say sorry.

Don’t let that happen. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, your unforgiveness. Settle your differences today.

Jesus bless you and goodbye.
