The Name of Jesus

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is the 30th August 2022. It is Tuesday morning, and this is your friend Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you.
Acts 17:22

“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:10

You see, the Greeks made an altar to the unknown God. We know His name. It is the most beautiful name in all creation! His name is Jesus. He is the son of the Almighty God! Some of us might say, but who is this? (just like the Greeks said). Well:

He is the King of Kings,
He is the Lord of Lords,
He's the Lion of Judah,
He's the Lily of the Valley,
He's the fairest of 10,000,
He's the Alpha and the Omega! The Beginning and the End,
the soon-coming King, the great I AM!
He's also the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the widow and the orphan, He's the great Healer, the Physician, and the title I love the most, He is the Friend of sinners.

We need to speak up more readily about our Saviour, my dear friend. Please, don't bring a tear to my eye when you call Him, "the man upstairs” or “my mate”. He is so much more than all of that. We need to be specific when we speak about Him. When we say God or Lord, everyone is happy. All the other religions don't mind, but as soon as you say the name of Jesus, many people become offended. But I want to tell you, and I can testify, that when I pray for the sick and I use the name of Jesus, I have seen people get out of wheelchairs and walk, I have seen blind eyes open. I have seen deaf ears unstop at that name. I want to say to you today, use the name of Jesus, because in that name is where the power is. New life is in the name. Jesus is the miracle worker. Call upon His name today.

God bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
