Sufficient Grace
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 28th of February, 2023 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
If we start in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, one of my favourite scriptures:
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
How are you feeling this morning? You might say, “I am feeling weak.” Well, I want to tell you that when you are feeling weak then Christ is strong in you, that is why Paul can say in Romans 5:3-4:
“I rejoice in my tribulations because tribulation worketh patience, patience, character and character, hope.”
I have never met a man yet in my life worth his salt who has not been through fiery trials. Jesus’ grace is sufficient for you and me. His strength is made perfect when we are weak, so therefore, when we are weak, then we are strong.
I read something very beautiful that was written by C.H. Spurgeon. He said,
“Can a little fish drink a river dry? Can a little field mouse, a shrew, eat a hundred hectares of maize? Can a single man deplete all the oxygen in the world while standing on top of a mountain? Of course not, it is ludicrous to even think of that. Well, can the Lord Jesus Christ not take care of you and me today?” He said, “A little faith will bring us to Heaven,” but listen to this, “but great faith will bring Heaven to our souls.”
Today, no matter how little faith you might have, give it to Jesus and He will multiply it for you. You have nothing whatsoever to worry about today. Just go out and thank Him for every single thing that He has given to you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
