Step Out In Faith

A very good day to you, I greet you in Jesus' precious Name. It is Monday morning, the 27th of February, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a Thought For Today.

"I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me".
Philippians 4:13

I heard a beautiful saying once that goes like this, "He who aims beneath the stars, aims too low". You have to aim above the stars. We say, "If your vision doesn't scare you, it's not big enough". Why? Because when it works everybody will say that was God, that wasn't you, and He will get all the glory. Remember, the best form of defence is attack. What does that mean? It means when everybody else is afraid and everybody else is pulling back and holding back that's the time when the believer steps forward and doubles up. I really mean that. It's been my motto since I started farming. When everybody says you can't, we say in Christ's Name we can. Okay, obviously we must hear from God first, that's very important, and then we must be very bold, very brave and very strong. We must not look behind us.

“No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:62

As soon as you look back, fear will grip you and you will collapse. Keep your eyes on Jesus and keep moving in a forward direction because He is moving with us. You know, I've mentioned it before, but I need to say it again, when we held that campaign at the Kings Park Rugby Stadium in Durban, South Africa I made a very bold statement. I said: "To hell with El Niño". I said we are going back to the farm and we going to plant potatoes. Folks, we had been told by the government that we mustn't plant our crops, that they are going to take strain without rain. The villagers were told not to plant maize because there was going to be no rain. I said to hell with El Niño, we are going back.

I planted potatoes. I planted maize. I hired fields from the neighbours and I planted maize there too. It was a tough time. There were days when I thought I'd made a terrible mistake because the rain just did not come. But then, it came in time. Because there was such a small national crop the price went through the roof and we probably made more money that year than on a good year, a normal year with normal rain. Do not be afraid to step out of the boat and walk on the water as long as Jesus has told you to, as long as He's holding your hands. This is the most exciting time of our lives. This is not a time to get huddled in the boat, the boat is sinking anyway, it's full of wood rot. We need to walk on the water and we'll meet the King of Kings right in that place.

Jesus bless you on this Monday as you step out again for Him by faith.

Goodbye
