Hotline To Heaven

I greet you in Jesus' precious Name. It is Sunday morning, the 26th of February 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a Thought For Today.

"The Lord watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down".
Psalm 146:9

I quite like that!

"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31

Have you had some people say: "There was a bit of divine cheating that took place when I wrote my exams because I really didn't understand the questions and I prayed and asked the Lord to undertake and He made a plan for me"? Divine cheating. But jokes aside folks, I want to tell you that if Christ is for you no one can stand against you. Those people that you think are getting away with it, the Lord tells us this morning that he turns the way of the wicked upside down.

Many a time, when I drive into town in my pickup, and I come to a robot, another farmer will maybe pull up alongside me, wind down the window and say, "Listen, can you send a prayer up to the Man Upstairs and ask Him to send us a bit of sunshine?" Then off he drives with a big smile on his face. Sometimes I used to get a little bit angry and think that that man was been totally disrespectful towards the Lord. Then I felt the Holy Spirit say to me "No, don't be like that, Angus, that man obviously believes that you hear from Me and that's why he's asking you to pray and send the sunshine". They call it a hotline to heaven. You've got a hotline to heaven. I know it's always tongue-in-cheek, but I think there's a lot of truth behind that. People really believe that we, as the children of the Lord, can hear clearly from God. So let's not be offended by that. Let us take it in our stride and say, "Yes, of course, we will and we are praying for you as well". Sometimes I see a tear welling up in their eyes because they just want to know the Lord more intimately. So remember, he relieves the fatherless and the widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down. He promises you, my dear friend, that He will never leave you and that He will never forsake you. Hebrews 13:5

Jesus bless you and have a lovely Sunday as you talk to your dear Friend and my Friend, Jesus Christ.

Jesus bless you and goodbye
