He Understands

And a very good morning to you!

It is Sunday morning, 23rd of January, the year 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14

I want to say this morning that sometimes the worst thing that you can say to somebody who has been through a bad experience is "We understand"... Maybe you are going through one yourself at the moment. Maybe bankruptcy, the loss of a child or maybe you are going through an ugly divorce... If somebody comes to you and says: “We understand”, when in fact they have no concept or no idea of what you or that poor individual is going through.

The good news this morning is that Jesus knows what you are going through - Why? Because He has been there, He walked on this very earth. We have just heard it right now in the word of God. If we go to Isaiah 53:3, the Bible says:

“He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.”

Oh yes, He understands, He understands that you are not in the first team. He understands that you are not popular because He has been there. In the eyes of the world you have not made it - He understands that too! Even your family does not understand the peer pressure that you are going through at the moment but Jesus knows. And He says to you and me this morning in John 10:10, the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy.

But Jesus said, “I have come to give you life abundantly.”

We must remember it is not the dog in the fight that wins. It is the fight in the dog that wins. It is not the one that can deliver the punch that wins. It is the one who can take the punch and stand up again - It is not over yet. Jesus says to us this morning, "Stand" - He says, “the battle is Mine!” Ephesians 6:14.

The battle belongs to the Lord. The Lord knows how much we can take, why, because He has been here. Remember, He has walked on this very earth.

Have a good heart to heart chat with Him today, you have got time, because He really understands and most of all He loves you.

Jesus bless you,
Have a wonderful day,
Goodbye
