God's Purpose on You

And a very good morning to you - It is Wednesday morning, 9th of March, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”
But Jesus says, “I came to give you life, abundantly.”

John 10:10

And if we look at Nehemiah in the Old Testament, Nehemiah 8:10, the Bible says the joy of the Lord is my strength. God’s purpose for us is to give us a rich and satisfying life. Abundance, more than you can expect, until you actually overflow... more than we ever dreamed of. So we need to be careful how we talk.

I want to ask you a question this morning - Is that glass half-full of water or is half-empty? Well, that is your decision... The devil says it is half-empty. Jesus says it is half-full - What do you believe today?

You must remember one thing, the devil had his neck broken on the Cross of Calvary. When Jesus said, “It is finished”, He meant it. The only thing that the devil has got the power to do now, is to tell lies. He is the father of all lies and he is the deceiver of the brethren. Today, do not allow the devil to steal your dream. That is all he can do, don’t allow it.

In 1994, a long time ago now, I returned from a preaching tour in bonnie Scotland. I had been there for three months. I was tired, I was weary and I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to take a pencil, that's right - just a pencil, and an A4 pad and write your story! Well, straight away the devil came in and tried to steal my dream, didn’t he? He said, “You have got no formal education, you have got no learning. You don’t know how to write a book. No one taught you anything.” The Lord said, “Write the story!”

Well, I very nearly listened to the devil and if I had I would not have started writing books. I want to tell you, I did not allow him to steal my dream... That’s right, Faith like Potatoes. That book is now in 17 languages and a full-scale movie has been made from that book. We have had countless miracles, healings and lives changed from that simple story.

Jesus tells you today, “Do not allow the devil to steal your dream! Live your dream today and remember, we have a glorious future to look forward to. We are going to spend eternity in the presence of God.

Have a wonderful day.
God bless you and goodbye.
