Darling of Heaven

And a very good morning to you! It is Friday morning, 1st April, the year 2022. And this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Mark 15:34

Have you ever felt forsaken, have you ever felt betrayed... Have you ever felt totally alone? Jesus knows. Have you ever had to take the blame for something that you never did? Oh, Jesus knows - He has been there. Jesus took it all for our sake, He took all our sin. He took it upon His shoulders... All our filth, all the sin of the world, so much so that His own Heavenly Father could not even look upon Him while He was dying on the cross. That is why Jesus called out to Him.

“Lord, why are You forsaking me?”

Remember, if there is no crucifixion there can be no resurrection. Our sin killed the Darling of Heaven. Not the Jews, not the Romans but our sin! The most famous verse in the whole Bible is John 3:16 which says:

“For God so loved the world (God so loved you, John. God so loved you, Mary)… “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, (that is Jesus Christ) that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Jesus did it all for us at this Easter time. He died for sinners, not for good people - for sinners, just like me and you. Mary Magdalene loved Jesus so much, do you know why? Because when everyone else gave up on her, Jesus didn’t. He drove seven demons out of that woman and who was the first to visit the tomb on Easter Sunday? Was it the disciples? No, it was Mary Magdalene. We see it in Mark 16:9:

“Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons.”

I want to say to you today, my dear friend, Jesus Christ has not given up on you. All you have to do is say sorry. Stop doing what you are doing, turn your eyes upon Him and He will give you new life.

God bless you and have a wonderful day!
Goodbye.
