The Word

“Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.”
Mark 16:14

The only time in the Bible that we read that Jesus really rebuked His disciples was when they would not believe, He says:

“O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you?" Matthew 17:17

Remember He said: “Bring the boy to Me” and the demon was cast out immediately.

But I can hear some of us saying this morning, “How do we get more faith Lord?” The answer is quite simple and found in Romans 10:17:

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - The Bible.

You and I need to start spending more time reading the Good News - The Bible and less time hanging around negative people. Remember, faith is contagious, that’s right - It is catchy! Spend time with men and women of faith and then you will get more faith

I remember a story of John Wesley when he was really struggling with his ministry... He met a German by the name of Peter Boehler who was a Moravian. Peter Boehler said to him: “Preach faith till you have it and when you have it, then you will preach faith."

Luke 17:5, even the disciples said, “Lord, please increase our faith.”

Folks, we need faith today like never before. St Augustine said, "Faith is to believe what you cannot see. But the reward of that faith is to see what you believe.” I want to do something this morning - I want to pray for you.

I believe that there are many people who are listening to this message this Monday morning who are feeling down and dejected. Maybe you have got a loved one in the hospital who is sick, maybe you have lost a loved one or maybe your business is taking strain. By faith let us speak life into that situation. Maybe you would like to pray after me:

Dear Lord Jesus,
This morning, I make a decision to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7),
and I thank You Lord for a positive answer.
I thank You, Lord, that you will turn my situation around because I choose to believe You.
