Don't Rush

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
— Isaiah 40:31

This is not a time for you and me to be hasty, to do things on the spur of the moment... I must confess, one of my failures is that I am too impulsive.

I am too quick off the mark and then I regret the decisions I have made afterwards. We need to wait upon the Lord.

You know, if you think about it Abraham waited a hundred years for the birth of his son Isaac and that is why God loved him so much. The Bible says:

“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.” James 2:23

Now all of us want to be God’s friend, even the devil himself will not come up against God. God loved Abraham because Abraham waited patiently for the promise of God - that is what you and I need to do today.

The Lord Jesus Himself spent thirty years waiting for the moment when His ministry, which lasted a mere three years, was launched. He impacted the world and the universe like no one else has ever done. You and I need to discipline ourselves, and we need to wait on the Lord.

I have a word, maybe for a young lady who is not too sure if she should marry that young man or not. When in doubt - don’t.

Remember, haste is not of the Lord.

Now, if he is the right man - give it a bit of time and the Lord will show you very clearly. The same thing goes for the young man. If you not sure about the young lady, don’t do it because you think it is the right thing to do. We really need to hear from God because we make decisions that we have to live with for the rest of our lives. Do not be in a rush. You know, the Lord is never early, He is never late, He is always on time!

Remember, Lazarus was in the tomb for four days. Mary and Martha said, “Lord, where have you been, you could have saved our brother.”

But you know, the Lord was there. He went and he called Lazarus out of the tomb - one of the greatest miracles that the Bible has written about took place at that time. God’s timing is always perfect!

Now today, ask the Lord to show you, to give you confirmation before you make a decision that can impact, not only your life but your family as well.

God bless you and have a wonderful day as you hear from the Lord!
