Outgiving God
1 Samuel 1 :27-28
For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.
It is impossible to outgive God. Remember, our Heavenly Father, gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a living sacrifice to cover all our sins.
All you and I can do in return is to say, thank you, Lord, because we cannot repay him, we cannot earn it, we can only receive it.
I read the story of Hannah, who was barren. She could not have children and she was despised by all the other women. She came before the Lord God weeping bitterly in the Temple , so much so that Eli the high priest actually thought she was drunk.
But God heard her prayers, and gave her the most beautiful baby boy, Samuel, who grew up to be possibly one of the greatest prophets of all time. She promised to give the baby back to God, so that he could serve in the Temple, but asked if she could keep him until he was weaned.
What an incredible thing to do, to give your only child away. But you see, we cannot out give God. When Hannah did this, the Lord rewarded her with another five children, three boys, and two girls.
Never forget, Jesus is a giver, and not a taker.
God bless
