Fasting

Isaiah 58 

The chapter on fasting, so very simple and yet very explicit.

Father has told us, Jesus has shown us, and the Holy Spirit has given us the power to perform it.

We are to lift heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, to break every yoke, to share our food with a hungry, to give a bed to those who have no roof over their heads, to cover the naked, and to not hide ourselves from our own families.

Jesus says, if we do this, then the light shall break forth like the morning and healing shall spring forth speedily, and the glory of the Lord shall be our portion, and then when we call on the Lord, He will answer us and He will say, “Here I Am.”

Let us be doers of God’s Word, and not hearers only. Then we will see that things will go so much better for us.

 Amen. Strength for the strain please Lord Jesus!
