A General Goes Home

The Bible says: "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit" (KJV).

Billy Graham died yesterday, and he has gone home to be with his beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.
But the truth of the matter is that Billy died many years ago, when still a teenager. He gave his life, his ambitions, vision, and indeed his Family and his future to Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Because it's in dying that we live, and I can hear you saying: "What do you mean?”
Well, when we die to self, then Jesus lives in us, and as Billy knew only to well that's when real living only begins!

Jim Elliot died a Martyr's death at the age of 29 years old, in the Amazon jungle while preaching the Gospel to primitive Indians, they killed Him with their spears. But he had written a short while before his death: "It is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose".

Rest with your Lord Jesus and your beloved wife Ruth, our General, and by the grace of God we will take up the slack.
