Dependable Trust
As we face the New Year, we need to ask ourselves a very serious question, and that is quite simply: “Who and what can I put my ultimate trust in this year?”
Governments around the world are in total disarray, economies are crumbling, basic moral standards are no longer regarded - anything goes nowadays. No more respect for human life or values, so how are you and I going to face the New Year?
My dear friend there is only one thing left and it is as solid as the rock of Gibraltar!
It is the Word of God alone, as contained in the Holy Bible. Jesus says quite clearly that: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” Luke 21:33, NKJV.
We read in Isaiah 40:8, NKJV: “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the Word of our God stands forever”.
This year, before we take advice from mere men, let us rather first hear what Jesus says about the matter - Then we shall not conform to the whims and fancies of this tired old world, but be renewed in the spirit of our minds, Ephesians 4:23, and only Jesus is able to do this for you and me.
