In the beginning

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was at the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
— John 1:1-3 (NKJV)

In the book of Proverbs 8:22-36, we see Jesus’ personality described to an absolute tee. How intelligent people could ever believe that this world, and the entire universe was created by a big explosion is a total mystery to me. My little four-year-old grandson, who is just about to start school will ask the question, well if that is so then who made the ‘Big Bang’?

And He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist.
— Colossians 1:7 ( NKJV)

In other words Jesus is the Word. Jesus is the Holy Bible in print. As the Holy Bible tells us in the book of Proverbs 8:36: “Jesus is wisdom, and he who sins against Jesus wrongs his own soul; all who hate Him love death”.

That is why the devil is hell-bent on discrediting the Bible, God’s Holy and sacred book because his sole purpose on this earth is to hurt God by destroying God’s people! The devil is persuading folk, some of them even learned theologians, to try and discredit the Word of God at all costs by saying blasphemous things like: “You can’t take God’s holy Word literally - it’s only a rough guideline.“ Others saying Father God is not a male! And yet still there are even some who would try to rewrite the Bible to suit their perverted lifestyles.

For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 5:18-19 (NKJV)

We need to be very careful because, Jesus says in Matthew. People are sick and tired of men’s opinions, they only want God’s Holy, written Word! Because they know deep down inside their spiritual man that it is only the Word of God that has the power to save the lost, heal the sick, drive out demons, and give desperate folk new hope and vision for the future. Therefore let’s preach the Word!

Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
— 2 Timothy 4:2 ( NKJV)
