Complete Investment
The book of Luke, chapter 12, has a very special parable spoken by Jesus. It is the parable of the rich man, a farmer in fact, who had a bumper crop on his farm. He asked himself the question: “what am I going to do with this huge crop?” He decided to build bigger barns to store his crop and then take it easy. He would eat, drink and be merry. But the Lord said in Luke 12:20:
But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?
We need to be careful about where we put our investment. It’s not just money, it’s time and effort. If we do as the foolish farmer, we’ll see that at the end of our lives, it was worthless. Even Solomon, the richest and wisest man who ever lived, said it’s folly, it’s foolishness. He said you make a fortune and leave it to someone who inherits it, and it ruins their life. What we need to do is keep our priorities in order. First, it is God, then it is our family, then it is our work, and so at the end of the day, we can be rich unto the Lord.
Jesus bless you
