Perseverance
In the Word of God, in the book of Isaiah 28:10 (NKJV), the Bible tells us:
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.
The old adage goes like this: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. We need to understand that, and especially the younger people. Yes, I used to young, but now I am older and one thing about old age, it does slow you down. That’s not a bad thing because it makes you think twice before you do something. We need to understand that we need to persevere in life.
The Lord called me to be a farmer when I was a young man and one thing that farming has taught me is that you need to build line upon line and precept upon precept, here a little, there a little.
You don’t put a crop of corn in the ground and expect it to grow overnight. It takes a full season, which is basically a full year before you reap that crop that you have sown into the ground by faith. And so it is as believers, as Christians, we must not get disheartened, we must not give up, we must not feel that we’ll never make it, because we’ve blown it again. What we must do is repent and then carry on. We need to realise that Christianity is not a one-off thing, it is a lifestyle and we build it slowly, just like you build a good house with a strong foundation, and then you put up the walls and the roof afterwards.
Jesus bless you today as you continue line upon line, and precept upon precept, here a little, and there a little.
