Tell the Truth
If we go to the book of Job, the story of the old farmer… What an incredible man of faith he was, even though he went through dire straits and extreme persecution and tribulation, he never turned his back on the Lord and never told an untruth. In the book of Job 42:7 (NKJV) it says:
My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.
The Lord cannot entertain lies or untruths of any degree. A lie is a lie, there is no such thing as a white lie by the way, it’s either true or it’s false. Then we go to the gospel of John 17:17 (NKJV) where it says:
Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
It’s the gospel that is true and as long as we quote scripture and as long as we direct our lives according to the Bible, then we cannot go wrong.
There is nothing worse than exaggerating and I’m talking as an evangelist, exaggeration is just another form of not telling the truth. We need to be very, very accurate when we speak. Isn’t it amazing that when you go to court, they make you put your hand on the Bible and swear an oath that you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me God. Why? Because the Bible is truth and that is what we need to concentrate on in these evil times in which we are living, where there is no more truth, not on the television, not in the newspapers, not in magazines and not in the social media. People no longer have a fear of God, so they don’t mind twisting the truth or bending the rules. Not for you and me, we need to speak the truth and God will honour everything we do.
Jesus bless you
