Open Your Eyes
If we go to the gospel of Matthew 13 :16, Jesus says:
But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
I want to say we need to guard our eyes and our ears. When I was a very young farmer, when I look back, I shudder at how I used to abuse my eyes and my ears. I would never ever think of wearing a earmuff over my ears for extreme noise, when we were possibly grinding out food for the cattle, and the noise would sometimes be at an incredible pitch, we just pressed through.
When I had to do an emergency job on one of the implements using an angle grinder or a grindstone, I would never put goggles on. That’s the absolute truth. I say that with shame. The sparks and the cinders and the minute particles of steel would be flying all over the place and I just kept going. Sometimes, I wouldn’t even weld without a mask, which is ridiculous.
We need to protect our eyes and our ears. What I think the Lord is speaking about here, more importantly, is that we’ve got to protect what we see.
Pornography is not an option, at all. It is a devilish thing and if you continue to pursue watching pornography it will be your undoing.
Then, hearing music, which is ungodly, hearing podcasts which are evil, will poison your very spirit man. Today, be careful what you are looking at and be careful what you are hearing.
Jesus bless you.
