Prisoners

If we look at the Word of God in Hebrews 13:3 (NKJV):

Remember the prisoners as if chained with them - those who are mistreated - since you yourselves are in the body also.

I think of prisoners who are serving their sentences for different crimes in prison. I have been in prisons literally all over the world. I was in a maximum-security prison visiting young men under 21 years old who were in for life. I have been to maximum-security prisons in New Zealand where those men sat with no light in their eyes, huge men, because all they did all day was weightlifting because there was no other exercise for them. I have been to maximum-security prisons in South Africa, and they are sad places, because these men are missing their loved ones and their families. Yes, they made a mistake, but they are paying for their mistakes. I too was a prisoner in darkness. I never knew Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and I was as much in prison as any one of those men around the world.

Today, we need to remember those who are walking in darkness, and we need to shine for them, love them, pray for them, and remind them that BUT by the Grace of God we were also chained in prisons, not even physical ones, but mental and spiritual prisons until Jesus the light of the world set us free.

Today, go out and shine and help to release those others who are caught in the bondage of fear and anxiety and stress and pain. Be a liberator for them through the name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus bless you.
