Obsolete

Hebrews 8:13 (NKJV):

In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

We thank God for the New Covenant.  The word ‘obsolete’ means out of date, it means of no more consequence, and the Lord has promised us that He has given us a new covenant, which makes the old one no longer valid.

The corresponding scripture in my Bible is 2 Corinthians 5:17:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

We really thank God that we don’t have to try and earn our way to heaven, which is impossible anyway, because He has made a way for you and I where there seems to be no way.  I want to encourage you today, like I am encouraging myself, and that is that our dependence is not on our efforts on trying to do good works or make sacrifices, but it’s purely dependent on the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior, what wonderful news!

So today receive that wonderful gift from God, the gift of the new covenant and then live accordingly.

Jesus bless you.
