Family Tree
Luke 3.23 (NKJV) “ Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph.”
We go on to read the complete family tree of Joseph, going right back to the first man on earth, Adam, that is some family tree. Now as we can see by the verse (Luke says “As was supposed’” which we know means Jesus is God made flesh), however he did have a family tree on the earth, taken from the line of Joseph, the carpenter from Nazareth.
My roots go back to bonnie Scotland, my late mom and dad both originated from the county of Aberdeenshire on the North East coast of Scotland. In fact the county just North of Aberdeenshire, bears my family name, Buchan, obviously I am very proud of the fact that my father was a blacksmith. My granny’s name on my mother’s side was Livingston, and of course that makes me very proud and she originated from the West Coast of Scotland, which is where the famous missionary Dr David Livingston came from. I would like to think and would be very honoured if I was in some way related to that man of God, who was instrumental in abolishing the horrific slave trade from Africa.
But of course, the most important thing is that my roots are bedded in the Lord Jesus Christ. The day that I gave my life to Jesus, I became part of His family and my roots go back to the beginning.
John 1:1 (NKJV) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
I trust and hope that you too can say today, that my roots go back to Jesus Christ, if that is the case, then you and I are brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Jesus bless you
