Tremendous cost!
Never take your salvation for granted.
If we look at the Word of God in 1 Peter 1:17-19 (NKJV), “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
The Bible tells us very clearly, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” Eph 2:8. We must remember that with Jesus there is no partiality (no favourites). What does that mean? It means we have to conduct ourselves throughout the time that we stay here on earth with fear, meaning with much reverence. Why? Because verse 18 tells us that we are not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold, but we have been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish or without spot. So we need to understand very clearly, the cost that the Lord Jesus Christ paid for your salvation and for my salvation.
A while back I listened to an interview on YouTube by a young worship leader who is extremely gifted and talented by God. Both my wife and myself were deeply concerned when we heard his interview. He said that he has walked away from God. He blatantly said there is no God.
This is a man who possibly many of us sing his songs, the songs that he wrote and sang in churches all over the world. He said quite blatantly he doesn’t need money, he’s got plenty money now, and plenty fame. He almost acted like a person who was some kind of prophet. He said very gently as he spoke that he has spoken to his parents, his loved ones and they all are blessing him and allowing him to be parted even with their blessing. He said for 10 years he’s been on the road every Sunday leading worship at large gatherings, mega churches etc, but quite clearly this man has no idea of the “price” the Lord Jesus Christ paid for his salvation. Of course the greatest sin in the Bible is the sin of unbelief, it’s not adultery, or fornication, it’s not murder, or stealing, it is unbelief; when you do not believe that Jesus Christ is God, made flesh.
I have shared this burden on my heart many times before, but again through reading the Word of God systematically, the Lord has reminded me that this is a very serious situation.
My conclusion is very simple. Clearly this man does not understand that there is a heaven and there is also a hell, called hades, and if he is not going to heaven he is definitely going to hell. Jesus spoke more about hell than He spoke about heaven. We need to pray for him, and we need to pray for many others that take their salvation so lightly. What speaks to me is their lifestyle. They are trying so hard to be in touch with the world and are also trying and walk the believers’ road, you cannot do it. Darkness and light have nothing in common, oil and water never mix, the things of God and the things of the world have nothing in common.
Today, please pray again and remember what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you and me on that cross of Calvary so that we might be forgiven and that we might inherit eternal life.
God bless you
