I AM WHO I AM

It is Saturday morning, 17th October 2020 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to the Book of Exodus Chapter 3 and I am reading verse 14:

“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.”

Oh today, we must remember that He is.

“He is who?” you might ask.

Well, He is The Alpha and The Omega. He is The Beginning and The End.

The sun doesn’t rise without His permission and the sun does not go down without His permission.

He is The Lord who will protect you and I as we continue to put our trust in Him.

Why is it that we are continually trying to protect ourselves when The Lord God Himself wants to protect us.

I remember a story that Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote about, that great British preacher.

He said, God is so big. He is so in control. He is like a giant lion.

I want you to think of a little boy who would go down to the zoo everyday and sit and look at this huge male lion walking up and down inside the cage, a beautiful, magnificent specimen, a black-maned lion.

And then some naughty little boys would come down from the school and they would pick up stones and they would throw stones at this lion, and the little boy loved this lion so much, he would stand in front of the cage of the lion and try and protect the lion from the stones that were being thrown at him.

Spurgeon said, “All he had to do, that little boy who loved the lions so much, was to walk up to the gate and open the gate and let the lion out.

And you and I so often try to let the work of The Lord instead of letting The Lord of the work do it for us.

1 Corinthians Chapter 2 verse 9 says: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Today, remember, all you have got to do is to let the lion out, and He will protect you!

Have a wonderful day and God bless you!
