He Rewards Those Who Trust Him

It is Thursday, 8th October 2020 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

If we go to the Book of Hebrews - Hebrews, Chapter 11 and verse 6:

“But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

We need to believe first of all that He is God and then, secondly to believe when we diligently seek Him we shall find Him and He will reward us.

Remember the power is not in the name, Jesus. It is in knowing the name and to know who He is.

He rewards those who trust Him.

You and I need to really trust the Lord today.

Colossians Chapter 1 verse 27 says it is Christ in us, that is the hope of glory.

It is the Lord Jesus in us that the devil is afraid of, nothing else.

Lots of people know the Bible off by heart but they have never met the Author of the Bible.

We have got to get to know that the Lord Jesus exists.

Yes! And that He cares enough to respond to those, you and I, who diligently seek Him.

To those who give all their passion, their strength, into seeking Him will find HIm - those who want to please Him.

God always honours faith, not good effort or works, but faith.

Why you might ask?

Well, because faith is glory and honour to His Name.

One of my heroes is a man by the name of William Carey.

William Carey was a cobbler and one day they tried to mock him a bit and they said, “I believe you are just a shoemaker.”

He said, “No sir. I can’t make shoes. I am a cobbler. I can only repair them.”

And he told the people in England that the gospel needs to go to India and one of the long-bearded men, one of the theologians said, “If God wants to save India, He doesn’t need you.”

Well, William Carey took his wife and his children and he went to India.

And he did not have much success but he went by faith you see, and God always honours faith.

He thought he would be an evangelist. He led no-one to Christ.

Eventually, his wife died and some of his children. It looked like it was an absolute disaster, and then he found the gift that God gave him.

He became a translator of the Bible from English into all of India’s major languages.

He even became the chief interpreter at the High Court in Delhi.

I want to say to you that if you step out in faith today, God will meet you because He loves you.
