Following The Son
It is 23rd September, Wednesday, the year 2020 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.
If we go to Gospel of John, Chapter 8 and verse 36, the Word of God says:
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
C S Lewis, that amazing Christian writer said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not only because I see it but because by it I see everything else.”
So very true, once you come to know Jesus personally.
You don’t have to ask so many questions anymore because He shows you the way.
You are no longer walking in the dark.
In the beautiful Zulu language, a very descriptive language, the word for “Sunflower” is “Ubhekilanga” which literally means, “following the sun.”
If you look at a field of beautiful sunflowers, you will see early in the morning as the sun comes up in the East, all those beautiful heads, those flowers are watching the sun.
As the sun rises, the plant actually turns all the way round and continues to follow the sun until it sets.
Interestingly enough, our family coat of arms has the sunflower as one of its emblems, and underneath that sunflower are the words, “Non Inferioria Secutus”.
What it means is, “Not following meaner things, not following lesser things”
And my dear brother and my dear sister and I like to spell that word, “sun”, S-U-N, we like to spell it S-O-N, because it is Jesus who brightens up your life.
He will keep you warm.
He will show you and lighten up your path and show you the way home.
Today, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and He will lighten up your life.
