Judge Not
Remember, people who live in glass houses don’t throw stones! People today are needing love, not judgement. We are living in very difficult, trying times.
That tramp sitting on the roadside, looking totally hopeless and destitute, we tend to judge him don’t we? We say, “Look at that lazy man sitting there. Why doesn’t he find a job and become a respectable person and be of some use to society.” But you see, often, we have no idea of that man’s background. Maybe he was a top professional lawyer, a top doctor, maybe he was a headmaster of a school and then he was driving a car one day, and maybe he got into a terrible accident and lost his whole family, tragically killed, and he just couldn’t bring himself to carry on with life.
Jesus asks you and I basically, “How would you react in a situation like that?”
I remember many years ago, hearing a story of a very posh university reunion, all extremely successful young men in their respective businesses. They were all dressed up in their fancy tuxedoes at this expensive hotel. Then one of the men lost his wallet - It was full of money. Eventually they said, “Lets all take our jackets off and have a search because somebody has taken that wallet, but one man in the crowd said, “No, I am not taking my jacket off”, and straight away, they judged him. They said, “You must have stolen the money.”
He said, “I didn’t.”
They forced him to take off his jacket only to find out he was not wearing a shirt. You see, his business had fallen into hard times and he had no money and he was extremely embarrassed to take off his tux jacket.
They finally caught the thief, he was one of the waiters.
Let’s not judge today. Never judge a book by its cover, you know that old saying.
Have a wonderful week and let's show lots of compassion and love to those who are struggling.
God bless you and goodbye.
