More Faith
“And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.”
Touching the hem of the garment - remember the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years. Doctors couldn’t help her, she was bleeding to death.
“For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
Mark 5:28
Who are we trusting today?
Are we trusting our bank balance, are we trusting our health system, are we trusting the weather - Who are we trusting?
Well Job, that old farmer, he lost just about everything and yet he still said in Job 13:15: “Though He slay me, yet will I still trust Him.” That is the kind of faith that Jesus is looking for today.
You see that woman pushed through the crowds, she was not going to miss out. She stretched out and she touched the hem of His garment. Jesus swung around and He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.” You say to me: “Well, I don’t have much faith.”
Well, I am asking you a question - you only need faith the size of a mustard seed to tell that mountain in your life to move, and it must go.
Look at that blind man, Bartimaeus, in Mark 10:52 - He persisted.
He shouted and he performed until eventually Jesus stopped, turned around, and asked that he be brought to Him. And He asked him a question: “What do you want me to do for you Bartimaeus?”
“Oh Lord, that I might receive my sight.” And the Bible says Jesus said: “Your faith has made you well.”
Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Hebrews 11:6
You know people often ask me, “Please can you pray for me, that I might have more faith.” I never answer that question. I say, “I will pray for you that you will have a hunger to read the Bible because Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. When you spend time with someone, then you will trust that person more implicitly.
My Dad was a blacksmith, that’s right. And I would sometimes go with my mom down to the engineering company to go and fetch him from work. That man would be standing there with a red hot piece of iron in his tongs and a massive hammer and he would be hitting it on the anvil, fashioning it into what he was making. The sweat would be pouring down his face. His muscles would be bulging from his arms, his face was black with soot and a huge smile would always come on his face when he saw me. All I could see was a row of white, gleaming teeth.
I thought that my dad was the strongest man in the world. Do you know why? Because I spent time with him.
Spend time with Jesus today and by faith, He will answer your requests.
God bless you and have a wonderful day!
