Jesus is Knocking

It is Sunday morning, 5th December, the year 2021, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Revelation 3:20.

I received a letter a couple of days ago and I just want to read this letter to you. It is a miraculous letter. It reads as follows:

Hello Uncle Angus,

I wanted to write to you Uncle. After my Mom and I listened to you on The Revival Train on Sunday, it was titled The Pearl of Great Price, something happened that morning while we were listening.

Near the end, Uncle Angus talked about Lilias Trotter and how she became a great missionary and while I was listening to the story I heard three knocks, a pause and then another knock on the wall behind us. It sounded like someone was inside the room, on the other side of the wall, knocking. I heard it loud and clear. I wondered what it could be since we were alone in the house and it didn’t sound like any of the familiar sounds that the house makes.

At some point, we thought it might have been something bad trying to prevent us from listening to the Word Of God and receiving the message. So we brushed it aside and kept on listening. But then, Uncle Angus said "As I am talking to you right now on the television, there is someone watching this program and I don’t know who you are, but the Lord says He is knocking on your door, He is knocking..." My heart dropped. I couldn’t and still can’t stop crying when I think about it... it wasn’t something bad at all - It was Jesus! Jesus was knocking.

There have been so many times where my mom and I felt so alone, nothing seemed to go right, like we don’t belong anywhere and no one cares. We would sometimes joke about just how we would forget packing our bags, jump in the car and drive until the gas tank says, “Bitterly sorry my dears, I’m empty there is no more". Hopefully, it will be in saving mode and last until we get to the beach where we would love to end up and live in peace.

Our unclear future and what we should do about it has been weighing on us a lot. Pressure from people, and I am sorry to add, family as well, make us want to curl up in a ball, close our eyes and ears and hide in the corner.

What I have learned is no matter how people treat us, push us aside or forget us, Jesus never will. We did at times wonder if Jesus listens to us, will He deliver us from our problem?

Well, on Sunday morning when I heard that knock and Uncle Angus said “Jesus says He is knocking”, I know now that my mom and I are not alone and He will get us out of here and bring peace inside our hearts. People will let you down but Jesus will never. He heard our cries and He told us, “I’m here, don’t worry I will never let you go, I will take care of you.”

Jesus bless you!
Have a wonderful Sunday.
