Ascension Day

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 18th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. Today, by the way, is Ascension Day - that's right! 

“So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.“
Mark 16:19

“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!  
Revelations 22:20

He is coming back! I tell you, He is coming back and He is coming back in the same manner that He left. Acts 1:11 says, 

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” 

He is not dead, He is very much alive I tell you, and our Master is returning very soon! The question is, are we ready? We serve a living God. He is not a dead famous person like Alexander the Great or Pharaoh of Egypt, or Julius Caesar of Rome. No, no, no - He is alive! He is coming back to the place that He left from. Where did He leave from? He left from the top of the Mount of Olives, just across from the City of David, Jerusalem. I have been there many times. The same way He left this earth in a cloud, the same way He is coming back again in a cloud. I am what you call a cloud-watcher. Every morning when I get up, I look out and if I see any clouds, I say, “Lord, is it maybe today? Are You coming today” because He says He is not giving us any warning, He is coming like a thief in the night. We must be ready!

Have a wonderful Ascension Day today as you remember that you and I serve a living Jesus and He loves us so much, He has gone ahead of us to prepare a home for us, and then He is coming back to take us to be with Him in Paradise forever.
