Counsel
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name on this beautiful Sunday morning, the 11th of December, 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
This is the prayer of Moses, the man of God - that is what it says in my New King James Bible:
“Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
Psalms 90:1-2
Isn’t that beautiful? Isn’t that encouraging? Then we go to Proverbs 8:23. Now we are talking about the wisdom of God. You see, Moses knew that he could never take an entire nation through the desert for forty years without wisdom from God and strength.
“I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.”
Proverbs 8:23
We are talking about the Lord Jesus Christ, of course. He is wisdom. That is another one of His beautiful names. Have you ever seen a photo of Mount Everest? It is another world up there, before Mount Everest was formed, Jesus was there. Even before Mount Sinai was formed, where Moses got the Ten Commandments from the Lord, God was.
“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’
Exodus 3:14
Today, let us go to the Great I AM, and seek counsel from Him. If a man of the stature of Moses could do that, how much more, young man, young lady, should we also be doing that? Not just asking Him for advice for the big things, but even the little things. I love that story of the old lady driving slowly down the road on a busy Saturday morning, with all the cars going in and out, she needs to get to the shop, but she is not too steady on her feet so she needs a parking place pretty close to the supermarket. So what does she do? She asks The Great I AM, ”Can you make a parking place for me, please Father?” What happens? Somebody just puts their flashlights on, they reverse out of a parking, right in front of her, and she just pulls her little car straight in, in front of the supermarket and she says, “Thank You Father” and out she goes!
Have a wonderful day in Jesus Name,
Goodbye.
