Count The Cost

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 21st of March, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

And when her mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.”
2 Samuel 11:27

“I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!” Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.”
Matthew 27:4-5

We are speaking about King David and Judas Iscariot. A man named Professor Els, wrote me a beautiful letter and told me about his old mother who died recently at the ripe old age of 90 years plus. She said something, and this little quotation I shall never forget as long as I live, “In a moment of madness, a lifetime of sadness.” Folks, don’t do it!

I am talking to that young man. Do not have that affair with that lady in the office. She is not your wife, she is the wife of another man. I want to say to that young woman, do not allow that man to entice you to sleep with him. It could cause you a lifetime of sadness. He is not married to you. I want to say to that businessman, do not go into that business deal because you know that it is not right and you will be found out and you might even go to jail. It will cause a lifetime of sadness for your family.

Judas Iscariot threw the silver down. They bought a field with that money. It is called the Field of Blood. I have been to Israel, in a high-density area, there is one little block, an empty field. That’s right, that is exactly where it happened, the Field of Blood.

David, the darling of every Jew dropped the ball in a moment of madness and had an affair with Bathsheba, Uriah the Hittite’s wife, and his life went totally wrong from then onwards. It is not worth it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you, be responsible, and sit down before you do it and count the cost and you won’t do it.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
