The Wellspring Of Life
I greet you in Jesus' precious name. It is Wednesday morning, the 22nd of March 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan with the thought for today.
"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life."
Proverbs 4:23
"Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it. But the correction of fools is folly."
Proverbs 16:22
βFor out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.β
Matthew 12:34
We must not allow our hearts to become clouded and unclear, or to become muddy, because then we can't see what we are doing. Our heart is the wellspring of life. We need to keep it pure and clean. We need to be careful about what books we read, what television programmes we are watching, and what we look at on our cellphones and our devices. It is very easy to pollute our hearts and make them dirty or poison them. You know, when we arrived on our little Farm, Shalom, many many years ago, we had no water. We saw a damp, wet spot in a low-lying area, so we started to dig carefully around that spot and we had to go right down deep. I wasn't in a position to hire a driller, we did it with the pick and shovel. Eventually, we saw a little spring starting to come out of the rocks. We found the eye of the fountain, the eye of the spring and gently encouraged it. We took away all the debris, everything that was restricting it and it became stronger and stronger until eventually, it was able to supply our wattle and daub house with water. It got so strong in the end we purchased a windmill and erected the windmill just above that spring and it's served our house for many years.
Today, let us encourage the wellspring of our lives with good wholesome food. Yes, I'm talking about fresh wholesome food, the Bible. Read the Bible every day. Read devotionals, read Christian books, and listen to Christian programmes that will build up the inner man and encourage your personality to trust the Lord in everything and your life will be transformed.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
