Miracles
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, it is the 23rd of March, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.“
Exodus 3:2
Amazing miracle - the bush was burning but it was not consumed.
“And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.”
Matthew 14:19
Jesus fed 5,000 men, not including the women and the children with two little sardines and five small barley loaves - multiplication of food! A burning bush that was not consumed! I want to ask you a question this morning. Do you believe in signs, wonders and miracles? Some people say, “Yes, we believe but those miracles went out when the disciples died.” I am sorry but I have to disagree with you entirely. You see, Hebrews 13:8 says that Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. One genuine miracle equals a thousand sermons. That is what we say at Shalom, and it really does. You can’t argue with a miracle because it is there in front of your eyes.
I had the privilege of speaking at a Mighty Men Conference just a week ago and as I was finishing up preaching, the crowd was pointing up into the sky and I couldn’t see because I was under a covering on the stage. They had a roof over the top so I couldn’t see anything. They told me to come down and have a look. I came out and there was a miracle in front of our eyes. It was in the middle of the day and there was a bright ring, a clear ring, right around the sun. Now, we had just been praying for rain in the Eastern Cape and God confirmed it for all of us, thousands of us praying for rain for Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape, and then when we looked a little bit further, there to the left, there in the sky was a beautiful cross made out of clouds.
Oh folks, I have seen too many miracles in my life to doubt the Lord. Don’t doubt Him, start believing in Him, but we must have patience because sometimes you have to wait a bit longer before you get your miracle.
Jesus bless you and have a lovely day.
