Let Your Light Shine

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 24th of March, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“But the path of the just is like the shining sun,…”

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

Now, we all know it is very hard to see stars shining during the day. You can hardly see them, but in the middle of the night when it is jet-black darkness, they shine and they twinkle beautifully, don’t they? So as we see things becoming progressively darker in this old world in which we are living, with things like immorality, and disregard for human life, where corruption, lying and dishonour seem to be the order of the day, this is where the Christian has the wonderful opportunity to shine for our Lord Jesus and where folks will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.  

You know, last week a group of us men were coming back from a Mighty Men Conference, and as the plane was about to land there was a heavy mist over the airport and obviously, the pilots were flying purely on instrumentation because we couldn’t see anything out of the windows. It was a little bit bumpy but we landed and the pilot did a great job. After the plane landed and we all disembarked, a lady walked over to us and said, “You know, that was quite a scary landing, wasn’t it?” we laughed and smiled and said, “Yes, it was.” Then she said, “But when I looked up and I saw you Christian men, positive, and talking about the things of God”, she said, “a peace came over my heart and I knew that we would land safely.”

Let your light shine today. You have no idea how many people are watching you and especially from a distance.
