Don't Give Up

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name!

It is Friday morning, the 28th of April, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
Proverbs 13:12

“Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.’
Psalm 126:5

“Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.”
Psalm 30:5

We must never, ever give up. One preacher said, “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.” Another version of Proverbs 13:12 says:

Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick but a sudden good break can turn life around.”

Another one says:

“When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing, but when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.”

Remember, anything worth having is worth waiting for. You have heard the adage, “Easy come, easy go.” If it does not cost anything, it is not worth anything.” You know, there is a story that has inspired me (I think you know by now how much I love the Bible), and this is the story of a young Welsh girl by the name of Mary Jones. When she was 16 years old, she walked 50 kilometres, barefoot across the rough Welsh countryside, to buy a Bible. She had saved up her money for six years to buy this Bible. When she arrived at the minister’s house, he told her that they were all sold. This young girl was devastated, to say the least. She broke down in tears. The minister was so overcome by this young girl’s hunger for God’s Holy Word, that he gave her a Bible that he had reserved for somebody else. The desire of this girl so impacted this minister that he started the Bible Society of Wales, which started Bible Societies right around the world.

Don’t give up today because I want to tell you, God will see you through. I can give so many testimonies of that.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
