Faultless Reputation
It is Monday morning, 25th July, 2022, and I greet you in Jesus’s precious name! This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
If we go to the Book of Acts:
“And they said, “Cornelius the centurion, a just man, one who fears God and has a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to summon you to his house, and to hear words from you.”
Acts 10:22
A good reputation is worth more than gold. Cornelius was not a Jew and yet he was highly honoured and respected. We always say people don’t have to like you but they need to respect you. Now, Cornelius was an officer in the army that was oppressing the Jews and yet he was still highly regarded by the Jewish people. I looked up the Oxford Dictionary to find out the meaning of the word, reputation - It means the belief or opinions that are generally held about someone or something. Now, it is not easy to get rid of a poor or a bad reputation... I always trust the jockey and not the horse.
You know, when a beef cattle farmer wants to purchase a new bull for his herd he needs to be very careful because the bull is actually half of your herd. You see a bull can make or break a farmer because he can look beautiful but if he is not fertile the cows will not conceive and the farmer will have no calves. I would always buy my bulls from a cattle breeder that had a trustworthy reputation. I would even gladly pay more money knowing that the farmer would never sell me a dud. Now, of course, Jesus has a faultless reputation. Jesus can be trusted, You can trust the Lord with your life, with your family and even with your business.
Jesus has never once dropped the ball, so today, go out and put your whole trust in Him. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
