Walk the Talk
A very good morning to you - I greet you in Jesus’ precious name on Thursday, 28 July, 2022. This is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“And to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God.”Psalm 50:23
And then we go to Galatians 6:16:
“And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.”
We have to walk the talk. As believers, we have an obligation, first of all to God and then to our fellowman, to walk the talk. We cannot say that we are Christians and then live like the devil. We say, “We have our rights, we can do as we please.” No, you can’t, we cannot because we gave our rights away when we became followers of Christ.
Jesus says, “You shall know them by their fruits.”
Matthew 7:16
Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes? No. We have a huge responsibility... For some, we will be the only opportunity for them to see Jesus. You know, I remember as an unbeliever, I was a wild man. I always used to use that pathetic excuse that I would get to Heaven before some of those ‘happy-clappies’ (I am one of them now) because at least I kept a job, fed my family and paid my debts... Until one day I realized that when I stand before the Lord on the Day of Judgement and use that pathetic excuse that I did more than those who call themselves Christians - what was going to happen when the Lord looks around and says: "But those people are not here!" Then I will be in big trouble.
You and I need to follow after Jesus. We have to be a living letter so that people can read us and see that these men, women, boys and girls are living the Gospels of Christ with love, joy, peace, patience, long-suffering and loving-kindness. Go out today and be a living letter for a world that is dying because they do not know the way.
Let’s walk the talk.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
Goodbye.
