Focus On Eternal Things

A very good morning to you. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Monday morning the 2nd of January, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan with a thought for the day.

“Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.”
Psalm 119:37

“Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.’
Proverbs 23:5

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’
Matthew 6:33

For us, this is going to be a year of focus. We are going to focus on those things which are of eternal benefit.

”For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”
Mark 8:36

We need to stop chasing after the wind. That’s what Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived said, he said it no less than three times in the book of Ecclesiastes. Let’s not be like that foolish farmer, who had a bumper harvest and he said to himself, ”I'm going to break down these barns. I’m going to build bigger ones, and then I’m going to store my bountiful harvest and then I’m going to sit down and eat, drink and be merry.” But Jesus said he was a foolish man because that very night, his life was to be required of him. We don’t know how long we’ve got left on this earth. This year, let us work on eternal things. “Like what?” you ask. Like spending time with family, relationships, and focusing on eternal things. Jesus is one year closer to returning than He was last year and that’s not a joke. We must not waste time this year. Let’s concentrate on things which have everlasting benefits.

Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.
