God Is Faithful
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 13th of March, 2023 and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:24
A good idea is not always a “God” idea. You and I have got to believe by faith that the Lord Jesus Christ does not break His promises. We can find evidence of that in Numbers 23:19
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent, Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
The devil is a liar. The devil will break every promise he ever makes to you because there is no goodness in him. John 10:10 says:
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” But Jesus said:” I came to give you life abundantly,”
By faith, you and I need to hang on to the promise of God in our lives, even by the very skin of our teeth, if necessary. But how do we get that faith, Angus, that you are talking about? Well, Romans 10:17 says:
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
When God gives me a promise, the way I strengthen myself, by trusting the Lord for that promise is by spending time reading my Bible. That’s how I hang on to the promises of God. If God has promised you that He will give you the desires of your heart, He will do it.
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4
We have seen it happen, time and time again, on this farm, Shalom, and I think many of you listening to this message can witness to that. The Lord said to me many, many years ago in 2003, “I want you to mentor young men, and that is what I did by faith. I hung onto the promises of God and in 2010, we saw over 400,000 men on this farm. God honours His promises.
Now, young lady, if you are waiting for the man in your life, the man that you want to get married to and he hasn’t arrived yet, stand on the promises of God. Don’t run ahead of God because you will marry the wrong man. Young man, you are struggling with your university degree. You don’t think you will ever get it but you believe that God promised you that He would help you through. Hang in there, He will do it for you. The same goes for that business venture, sir. The same thing goes for that farming enterprise. Focus on Jesus and He will fulfil His promise to you.
Jesus bless you and goodbye.
