He Goes Before Us

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is the 30th of November, 2022, Wednesday morning, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8

“Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” 
Psalm 55:22

If Jesus goes before us then all is safe. All is safe, follow after Him, you have nothing whatsoever to fear in this world because He will not fail us. He goes into battle with us leading from the front. Jesus will take on the enemy and all we need to do is to follow after Him.  

I can hear somebody saying, “Well, I don’t know the way.” Well, if you take a Kalahari bushman and you put him in Times Square in the middle of New York, USA, he will be totally and absolutely devastated and lost. I can just imagine with the trucks, the buses, the cars and the hooters, he wouldn’t know where he was, but take that same Koisan Kalahari bushman and put him in the middle of the Kalahari Dessert with you and he will show you the way. He will show you where to find water. He will show you where to find food and if he wasn’t with you, you would surely perish.

Now Thomas said to Jesus, in John 14:5, “We don’t know the way, Lord.” And in verse 6, Jesus said, “I am the Way.” I want to say to you today that you need to cast all your cares upon the Lord. He will not let you down. He has promised. He has gone ahead of us to make a place for us in Heaven, then He is coming back and He is going to take us by the hand, all the way home. Isn’t that wonderful news? 

Maybe go and speak to somebody who is stressed today and say, “Don’t worry. I know a person who knows the way. He is my best friend. He has never let me down and He will take you home."
