Lend To God

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 5th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

”Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.”
Psalm 41:1

“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
Matthew 25:40

When you lend to the poor, you lend to God. Do you know that beautiful story of Peter and John going up to the temple to pray? That is a beautiful story. Remember, a lame man was sitting on the side of the road. He was poor, he was a beggar and he was asking for alms, for money, and what did Peter and John say? They said, “Silver and gold, we do not have, but what I do have I give you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Do you remember that old song?

"Silver and gold have I none,
but what I have I give to thee.
In the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth, rise up and walk!"
He went walking and jumping and praising God,
walking and jumping and praising God.
"In the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth, rise up and walk."

I remember many years ago, having a campaign up in the northern part of Kwazulu Natal. I think we called it, Jesus The Healer. We had a big tent, we hired buses, we brought in the poorest of the poor from the shanti towns, and every night the crowd grew bigger and bigger. Do you know why? Because the people there had nothing else to do, they had nothing to go home for, and they were a captive audience and every night Jesus Christ performed miracles, signs and wonders.

I remember very distinctly, one of the bus owner's sons, he was a Sikh and had a turban around his head. He came up onto the platform and he was mute, he could not speak. The power of God was so strong in that tent that night, I walked up to him and I anointed him in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and I said, “In the name of Jesus Christ, be healed, and Lord, we thank You that his voice is coming back.” I took a mic and I put it by his mouth and I said, “Say the word, “Jesus”. He said, “Jesus” and I want to tell you, that whole tent erupted. He got his voice back, he was running around, and he was praising God.

Today, go out and pray for a poor person, feed a poor person, lend to God and God will honour you.

Jesus bless you and have a lovely day,
Goodbye.
