Work Hard
Then we go on a little bit to chapter 4 and I am reading from verse 2:
“And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbours—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
You see, the Lord wants us to work hard with our hands. He told the Israelites when they said, “We have no water for our cattle to drink” - He said: “Dig ditches and I will fill those ditches with water.”
He said to that lady, that widow, she said, “All I have got is just one jar of oil, and they are coming - the debtors are coming to take my sons away as part payment.” He said, “Go and borrow all the empty vessels you can find and keep pouring one jar of oil into every vessel and they will all be full.”
Father God will fill them for us. We must throw the nets into the water and God will fill them with fish. He will not throw the fish into the boat.
Remember, Jesus said the disciples, “Throw the net onto the right-hand side and the net was filled with fish." John 21:6
One of South Africa’s greatest sportsmen, golfer Gary Player, when he was told by someone: “You are so lucky. You hit the ball so straight.”
He said, “Well, it’s funny - The harder I practice, the luckier I seem to be!”
There is no substitute for hard work. In fact, work is good for the soul. God created you and me to work. It is the devil who finds work for idle hands - If you don’t put the seed into the ground, you will not reap a crop.
And I want to say to the young people today, it is no good asking the Lord to help you with your exams but you are not doing any studying.
Let's work hard today and let's see God undertake for us, have a wonderful day.
God bless you and goodbye.
