Facing The Enemy

When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
— Isaiah 59:19

And then we go to Hebrews:

“So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:6

I want to say to you that the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane ran away from the only person in the whole world who could have protected them. The Bible tells us that they all fled and forsook the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you look at the armour of God that the Lord tells us to put on... Starting with the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, shoes of peace, taking up the shield of faith to ward off the fiery darts of the evil one and the sword of the Spirit, the word of God (the Bible), you will see that there is nothing that covers the back of the soldier. Why - Because the soldier never turns his back on the enemy.

My dear friend, in this perilous time which we are living in, we need to face the enemy. We need to face the devil - He is a liar and he is a thief and all he wants to do is break you down with fear. We stand! The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly or carnal but mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds. I think you will find that in 2 Corinthians 10:4 - That’s right.

I heard a wonderful story just the other day, of a young man and his family that I am mentoring. He told me that he took his family to the Botswana Game Reserve and he was camping away from everybody in the middle of the bush. During the night he heard the noise of lions around their tenting place. He got up early in the morning and he saw the spoor of 16 lions that had gone around that camp during the night. So he got up very early and he took his cell phone and he wanted to take a photograph of the spoor to make a little video of it to send it to his family in South Africa.

As he was walking along with his brother in law he looked up and standing 50 meters away from him, was a huge male lion - I saw it because he took a photograph of it. They were both absolutely transfixed when they looked at this lion he said to his friend: “Stand and don’t move, look at the lion.” The lion was getting ready to charge them but did not turn their back on the lion. They did not run away - They kept their eyes on the lion and slowly but surely, step by step, they retreated to the camp. The lion walked around the camp and then walked off.

Today, we need to face the enemy and the Lord will give us the victory.
God bless you and have a wonderful day.
