Just Do It
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Wow! What a promise from God. Then Philippians 4... I think we all know it:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
We have got to keep in abiding fellowship with God. We have got to remember the power that is available to us. William Carey said, “Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God.”
Like the little boy who says: “I can’t see! I can’t see!” When he is standing in the dark, right next to a switch. All he has to do is turn the switch on and he will have all the light and the power that he needs.
I love that Nike logo, “Just do it!” Stop talking about it and use the power of God available to you - Get out of that boat. The boat is sinking anyway so start walking on the water, Jesus will never let you drown. Remember, God feeds every little bird, He doesn’t throw the food into the nest - That bird has got to go and find it.
I remember, a couple of years ago, reading a beautiful story of a cattle king who lived in Australia, in the 1800s. His name was Sydney Kidman - The queen even knighted him, Sir Sydney Kidman. He started breeding cattle in the outback of Australia. He started with nothing. He was a little boy that ran away from home, actually. He amassed a herd, I will say it slowly, of a hundred and seventy six thousand head of cattle!
He had land that was bigger than some countries but then an horrific drought hit Australia that lasted for five years. The interior literally became a desert and he nearly lost the whole lot but he did not give up. He carried on and he carried on with a few head of cattle that he had and then the rain came. The grass grew and the cattle started breeding again and he made an amazing comeback.
Today, you and I have all the power of Heaven and Earth at our disposal. The Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, abides in you and I... Stand up my dear friend, wipe off that dust. Shake it off your shoulders, put your head back and keep on, keeping on - Jesus will see you through!
