Persevere

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 9th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:9-10

We have a big seed company very near Shalom, and they grow seed maize, soya beans and vegetable seed. They had a slogan many years ago, and it read like this: “Good seed does not cost, it pays.” So don’t give up, keep on doing good.  

Now just last weekend, I had the privilege of speaking at a Mighty Men Conference in South Africa. When I got to the conference, the organisers said, “You have two very special guests that want to meet you. They are two Frenchmen. They have come all the way from France to be here this weekend.” I was amazed. I said, “How did that happen?” They said that the one is a taxi driver from France and he came over with his brother. Now, this taxi driver was taking some of his customers, maybe to the airport, I don’t know where, and they left a book in the back of the taxi. When he got home, he took the book out and he started to read it. It was one of my books and at the back of the book was an address and they contacted South Africa and said they wanted to come across and meet me.

Now, I want to tell you, I have been writing books for many, many years, starting from the 1990’s. I have written many books and sometimes I get weary and tired and I say, “Lord, is anybody going to read these books?” And of course, the devil says, “No, no one is going to read those books of yours.” Yet I have persevered, not grown weary in doing good and what has happened? In due season, I am reaping. I met these two wonderful men of God and it was because of a seed sown, a book left in the back of a taxi in France, can you believe it? Of course, these two men were at the meeting when we did the altar call, they came forward with everyone else and recommitted their lives to Jesus Christ

Folks, don’t give up today. Keep on doing what you are doing for the Lord, and especially for the household of God, and the Lord will give you such a big surprise. He will reward you. Good seed doesn't cost, it pays.
