Reap In Joy
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 27th of January, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
“Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.”
Psalm 126:5
`And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4
Maybe there is a mother today who has been weeping over a prodigal son, maybe there is a father who has been weeping over a prodigal daughter, praying and weeping for them to come home, to come back home to Jesus, and you are not seeing anything at the moment. Keep on.
Dr David Livingstone sowed many tears over Africa. He said there would be those who came after him who would reap in joy. He died in the heart of Africa. The locals called him, “the good man.” He died near Chief Chitambo’s’ village, right in the heart of Zambia. He died on his knees praying in a little grass hut that they had constructed for him. Not one member of his family was near him. If he had died on the moon, it wouldn’t be further away from his beloved Scotland. He had not succeeded in abolishing the hellish slave trade. He had not succeeded in finding the source of the Nile River that he thought would bring commerce and industry into Africa and stop the buying and selling of human flesh.
It all looked like his life had been such a waste. But, the people loved him so much when he died that they cut out his heart and they buried it under a tree. In my prayer room, I have a sprig of that tree and it is framed. They embalmed this godly man’s body and carried it to Zanzibar, something like 1500 km, maybe more, and took it back to Britain. After his death, the hellish slave trade was abolished, the source of the Nile was discovered and the Gospel and commerce and industry were brought to Africa.
I want to say to you today, don’t stop sowing good seed, don’t stop weeping for your loved ones. The Lord has heard your prayers and He will turn the situation around.
Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,
Goodbye.
