Who Do You Say He Is?
I greet you in Jesus Christ’s name! It is Saturday morning, 9th July 2022, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.
John 6:69:
“Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Wow! What a confession by Peter, Jesus’ disciple. That was just after many people turned their backs on Jesus and left Him. Immanuel! If we look at Isaiah 7:14 in the Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus Christ was born, He is known as Immanuel, which translated means, God with us. He said, “if you have seen Me, then you have seen My Father because We are One.” There is nothing complicated about being a Christian. They say educators complicate, and communicators simplify, either you believe or you do not believe. Jesus is not just a good man. No! He is the Son of God. He is not one of many gods - no, He is the only God. He is the Messiah, the soon-coming King, and I can’t wait for that day.
Simon Peter had absolutely no doubt who Jesus was. He walked with Jesus for three years, they lived together, ate together, and walked the whole of Israel together. Peter saw Jesus walking on water, stilling the storm with one word, raising a dead man who had been dead for four days, He saw Him multiplying food; He even saw Jesus being transfigured and speaking with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration.
But what about us today? Who do we say He is?
I say He is the Friend of Sinners because He saved a wretch like me.
I say that He is a Miracle-worker because He has worked so many miracles in my life. I say that He is the most
wonderful Saviour and Friend who has ever lived, and I say that He is coming back very, very soon.
Remember, good people don’t go to Heaven, believers go to Heaven!
Today, walk in faith and Jesus will give you life.
God bless you and goodbye.
