Eternal Security

It is 16th June 2022, Thursday morning, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. If we go straight to the Gospel of John 10:28, Jesus said:

“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

Wow, eternal security! I looked up that word in the Oxford Dictionary, eternal - it means valid for all time. It means there is just no end to it! To never perish means we will live forever and ever in the presence of Almighty God! My dear friend, Jesus has got us in the very palm of His hand and no one will snatch us from Him. Paul says in Philippians 1:21:

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

You cannot frighten a Christian with Heaven. The safest place to be is nestled into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father in Heaven. I remember years ago, at a meeting, I felt the Lord say I need to pray for people suffering from insomnia - they just could not sleep at night, maybe you are one of them? I drew a picture in my mind for them. I said, “I want you to imagine our Heavenly Father sitting in a big easy armchair and He says to you, “Come up my child. Come and sit on my lap”. You get up onto His lap and put your head onto His chest, He puts His big strong arms around you and then He just rocks you to sleep." Now that is a lot better than counting sheep! The next evening one of the ladies I had prayed for never came back to the meeting. Two days later I saw her and said, “What happened to you?” She said, “I came back from work. I sat down, I remembered what you said. I said, “Lord, I am in Your hands” and I went sound asleep. “I never even made it to the meeting.”

Jesus loves you. Today remember He is our eternal security.
