Speak Life

I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 16th of May, 2023, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

“The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.”

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things,…”

Out of the mouth, we speak what is in our hearts. As God’s spokesman, we are to speak life and not death. No matter how hard things are, no matter how bad things become, Jesus Christ is still on the throne, He is still the soon-coming king, and therefore we shall remain optimistic and positive and we shall speak life and not death. Remember, one uplifting comment can change a person’s life in an instant. We need a different spirit.  

Now, Numbers 14:24 says:

“But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.” 

Now remember, Joshua and Caleb came back with a different report. When the other ten spies came back from the Land of Milk and Honey, they said, “There are giants there.” They said, “We feel like grasshoppers in their sight”, and of course so they were, but not Joshua and Caleb. They came back with a different spirit and when they went into the promised land, Joshua said to Caleb, “You can choose any part of the land that you want because you have been so faithful.” He didn’t say, “Give me the nice fertile valleys where the rivers run, where it is quiet and beautiful and the grazing is good for the cattle, no, no, no! He was 85 years young when he said, “Give me the big mountains where the big giants live.” He went up and he cleaned them out.  

Today we need to remember if Christ is on our side, we have nothing to fear. John G Lake, the evangelist said, “When you get up in the morning and you look in the mirror, say to that person in the mirror, “Wherever you go today, God is going with you” and then go out and face the world.”
